Other hosts would much rather you leave the bed exactly as it is because they can see what needs to be changed and don’t want you rummaging through the bedroom looking for somewhere to put the linens.
And some people simply prefer a made bed because it makes the room look tidy until they’re ready to clean it.
That’s why there’s no universal houseguest rule that says “always strip the bed” or “always make the bed.”
